So...Excuses...Excuses...NaNoWriMo?

24th Jul- phew! That's a while back, I remember that day, the sun was shining, the ice cream was good and Blogger was good, last time I checked!
Yes, 24th July was the last time I blogged on here....ahh! Arn't I a bad boy? Well, I'm here now, and I'm sorry, I havn't thought of much to write/ have been busy!

I havn't been doing much Social Networking, actually. I havn't been on Twitter much for a while until the last couple of days, but I've decided I want to get back into the world of Social Networking and one thing that's gonna help me is- NaNoWriMo!

NaNoWriMo, for those who don't know, stands for National Novel Writing Month, which is a sort of challenge set in November to make a 50,000 novel! Sounds crazy! YOU HAVE TO DO IT IT ONE MONTH! AND I AM DOING IT!, I will be chronichling (Is that spelt right, probabbly not! Is it even a word?) my trials and tribulations during the time on HERE and MY TWITTER, www.twitter.com/ipsy

I can't wait to start, and although I am very busy, I'm really going to try hard to complete it! Wish me luck :)

So...My Music review of 2009 so far!!!

Woah...it's been over a month since my last blog which was about music!

GUESS WHAT? This one is about music too! :)

Alright so, In my own honest opinion, 2009 hasn't been the best year for music (I loved 2006, if I'm honest...I remember it being good!) Anyway, there are exceptions! The only music I really don't go near is RnB, Rap, Dance and slutty singers like Lily Allen but I've got to admit....THIS YEAR I'VE GOT INTO ALL OF IT (Only a little bit) But still!

SONG'S I WOULDN'T NORMALLY GO NEAR BUT I DID:

Lily Allen- The Fear
It was too catchy to not get hooked on, even though I think the girl is a right old idiot, she can produce an alright song!

Black Eyed Peas- Boom Boom Pow/I Gotta Feeling
The Black Eyed Peas have been a band I've loved to hate for a few solid years now, but this year they have produced two solid, catchy singles! I Gotta Feeling is just awesome!

Dizzee Rascal- Bonkers
SOME PEOPLE THINK I'M BONKERS BUT I JUST THINK I'M FREE! 'nuff said.

Calvin Harris- I'm Not Alone
He is an absolute dreadful singer but his mixing is incredible! It really is, and this song is a filler!

Cascada- Evacuate The Dancefloor
I've hated Cascada but I have had this song in my head for days!

SONGS/ARTISTS I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS YEAR:

Bon Iver
If you havn't heard this guys album, 'For Emma, Forever Ago'- GO OUT AND GET IT NOW! The background story is emmense! I bet you have heard it! The guy was ill and lived in isolation in a log cabbin for months after a split from a relationship aswell. He came back with a cracker of an album and it really does pull at your heartstrings. He also released the EP, 'Blood Bank' in January which was another solid release. I can't wait to hear more!

Radiohead
Now, I've heard of Radiohead, obviously but I have had to admit I hadn't really listened to much of their music. I knew Creep, which I like but now I have discovered amazing songs like High and Dry and Paranoid Android.

Train- Drops Of Jupiter
It might be tight to call the band a one-hit wonder but- they are! But that one-hit is one hell of a hit. Drops of Jupiter is possiblly one of the greatest songs I have ever heard and I have only started getting into it!

Green Day
I knew their hits but now I have been listening back to alot of their albums and I am impressed!

MY FAVE ALBUMS OF THE YEAR SO FAR (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

Manic Street Preachers- Journal For Plague Lovers
When I was bored I gave it a little listen on Spotify and instantly liked it, it's not very often that happens to me on a first listen!

Paolo Nutini- Sunny Side Up
Lots of people don't like this album but I love it! I loved his first album and I think this second offering is just as good although it is so different! Change is good!

Kasabian- The West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum
Now I liked Kasabian but now I love them! This is definetely their best album and it deserves to win the Mercury Music prize!

Green Day- 21st Century Breakdown
Very cool! Every song I like. It's wierd, I don't really find any amazing but I like every song, it's good!

Ben's Brother- Battling Giants
One of my fave bands give an amazing second album! As good as their first! REALLY GREAT!

MY FAVE SONGS OF THE YEAR SO FAR (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

Kasabian- Fire
It's such an awesome song! Kasabian's best, It blew me away when I first heard it!

The All-American Rejects- I Wanna
Sure to be a classic!

James Morrison- Broken Strings
That was this year, right? Anyway this song is an absolute beast!!

Arctic Monkeys- Crying Lightning
I have been listening to this non-stop since I first heard it! AWESOME!

The Killers- A Dustland Fairytale
Soooooooooooo Epic! This song is going to be a Killer classic! Haha! See what I did there?

Paolo Nutini- Candy
This set the mood for his new album- At least you thought it would! The albums all ska-reggae, this is just a chill-out tune! I love it all!

Just Jack- Embers
Gutted that It got nowhere in the charts but it's an awesome song!

Doves- Kingdom Of Rust
Never heard Doves before this, but this is brilliant!

BIG DISSAPOINTMENTS FOR ME THIS YEAR!

Franz Ferdinand- Tonight:Franz Ferdinand
After god knows how many years us Franz Ferdinanders were waiting for a new album, and they give us this very average album. I really like Ullysess and No You Girls is catchy, but the others are just- average!

MIKA- We Are Golden and Songs For Sorrow EP
Now MIKA was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me and when I heard he had new stuff out, I listened, and am very VERY dissapointed. Especially his new song, We Are Golden, it's pretty lacklustre.

Blur not releasing any new music!
Stupid money-making scum!

Michael Jacksons death!
The music world lost a true legend!

WHAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS YEAR!

Muse's new album!
Arctic Monkey's new album!
I want to at least hear MIKA's new album!
Athlete's new album!
Jet's new album!
Blink 182's new album!

MUSIC WHICH SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM ME!

LADY GAGA
LA ROUX
JLS

Thanks Chuck!

So...A Music Blawg Dawg!

Waz a happin' Dawgs?

This is my blawg! About Music, innit!

Alright, let's ditch that...How is everyone? Good! Now let's get on with the blog...

I've got a music discussion, just to tell you guys what music I am into at the moment! A few albums which I am loving are Kasabian's 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum' and Paolo Nutini's 'Sunny Side Up' They are both excellent and worth a look! And If you havn't heard the singles, Fire (Kasabian) and Candy (Paolo), definetely check them out!

Okay so songs! There's a song I have got into in the last few days and it is called '15 Minutes' by the 'Yeah You's' and it is absolutely awesome! Check it out, it's not available on iTunes

There is some music which I just stay clear of (even if I may like it a bit) and that is generally most of the music that gets to number one! But there are two songs which have stuck in my head and I can't get away from! And they are Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas and Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal. I wouldn't normally go near these two artists, but those songs (all though not the best lyrics) are damn catchy and infectious!

What about a dance? 'She's got my Dancing' by Tommy Sparks is a great little dance track and it's alot like 'Better Off As Two' by Frankmusik, I am loving them both!

'Doctor Doctor' by Just Jack, 'Be The One' by Jack Penate have honourable mentions! (Oh and Red by Daniel Merriweather which I love)

And that's about it at the mo! So I'll see you guys later!

So...Twitter Replies From Celebs!

Simon is back and talking again about Twitter! But this time about the Celeb world of Twitter now, let's pass it over to Simon...

Hello! Okay, so, yesterday (May 16th) I got something many Twitterer's dream of....AND I GOT TWO AT ONCE! And that is a reply from a Twitter celebrity! And I got two! And from one of my fave shows as well. Rupert Hill (Jamie from Corrie) and Charlie Condou (Marcus from Corrie),Although they have both left Corrie at the moment, it is still pretty awesome!

Rupert Hill, twittered 'Who you think is the best band in the world' and knowing he has his own band (Yellow Dog), I replied 'Yellow Dog' and he replied 'Bless you. Have a gold star!' I was reeling from this and about half an hour later Charlie Condou twittered 'I have got a picture of my cake to post, but Twitpic isn't working', I replied 'Can't the cake wait?' and he replied to me 'Cake can never wait!'. I was like- WOW! Two in a day! :D

So here's a little tip on replying to Celebs on twitter- Say something that they will like/amuse them!

Thanks,
Si.

So...Twittertwittertwitter

Hey followers, I mean blog readers! After almost a month of not posting again, I am back. The twitter bug is so overbearing that it is hard to post in this blog! (My excuses are great!)But I still want to post here even though my Twitter presence is always increasing. So as we are on the subject of Twitter, I will tell you whats going on in the world of Twitter!

Coldplay recently took over Stephen Fry as the top UK celebrity! Well done Coldplay and Ashton Kutcher (Who I do not follow!) recently became the first Twitter user to reach 1 million, followed about 30 minutes later by CNN. Yes, Twitter is more popular than ever and one Twit who is making it slowly up the ranks of Twitter is 'Captainwalker'. Within a week, his amazing blog and comical twits have caught the attention of two famous UK Twitterers- Russull Brand and the amazing Ben Miller. So anyone here who isn't following Captainwalker on twitter should! He's going to be the next big comedian! I'm telling you!

With 135 followers myself, I'm slowly making my way up the ranks of Twitter and at the moment I am doing a twitter chalenge! I'm doing an 'Album A Day' challenge! I am listening to one album a day for a few weeks! So if you are on twitter, suggest me one to listen to, it will be greatly appreciated!

So guys...If you are not on Twitter- GET ON IT NOW! You will really love it!

Just a reminder: My twitter: ipsy

Thanks,
Simon

So...What Can I NOT Live Without?

I thought this would be fun! A blog about the things that I could not live without! So...

I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT:

AN IPOD OR MP3 PLAYER
As you may know, I have an iPod Touch. I don't think I would be able to live if I had no access to music when I am out and about. I could settle for a normal MP3 player, but an iPod is all I have ever had, before my iPod Touch I had an iPod Video and before that, a First Gen iPod Nano.

INTERNET
Where would I get my music from? Discover new music????....CD's?? BAH! No, but, alot of the music I am really into now, I would not have discovered if I didn't get to know them from the internet

SOME FORM OF KNOWING THE TIME OF DAY
Something which really annoys me is not knowing what time it is! If I have misplaced my watch and am out in town without my phone etc., when I don't know the time, I HATE IT!

TV
You just can't imagine life without it!

FOOD
You gotta eat!

COLDPLAY
You need an obsession, don't you?

LOST
The most amazing/shocking show on TV

CORRIE
I'm just hooked

Well I am sure there are more but I can't think of them at the moment so I will say bye and just leave you with a song which is stuck in my head at the moment....
Kingdom of Rust by Doves!

So...Ben's Brother

Hey guys! Alright today I just want to let you know a bit about my 3rd Favourite band, Ben's Brother. They have just put their new video on their YouTube, it's called 'Apologise'.
I say band, well, they used to be a band. For their first album there was five of them but now they have whittled down to the amazing lead singer and songwriter, Jamie Hartman.

Jamie Hartman is Ben's Brother in more ways than one. He is the only member in the 'band' and he is the brother of Ben. Their band was named after Jamie's big brother Ben, in whose shadow he lived. Jamie always considered himself the beta male of the family, which gave him the idea for the title of their debut album, Beta Male Fairytales.

Now Ben's Brother are back with the amazing, 'Apologise'
